New Immunization Requirements
Rising 6th graders must meet the new immunization requirements for the 2008-2009 school year. The new rule states that a booster dose of Tdap vaccine is required for all children before entering 6th grade. Read about the details on this flyer or visit www.immunizenc.com.

SPAN
The Student Parent Access Network is now available to 6th and 7th grade WMS parents and guardians. SPAN allows parents and guardians to access updated student information including grades, schedules, and attendance. WMS is one of a few WCPSS middle schools piloting SPAN. Parents/guardians requesting a SPAN account MUST have an email address.

Application forms and a FAQs handout were sent home with students Friday, April 25. Application forms and FAQs may also be found here. Application form in Spanish.

Parents and Guardians can request access to SPAN in two ways:
  • notary application form which requires the endorsement of a Notary Public and can be returned by mail, by student or by a parent.
  • hand-delivered form which requires the parent/guardian to personally deliver the form to Ms. Anderson in Student Services and present photo ID. When school staff checks photo ID, the mailing address on the form and on the ID must match.

Questions about SPAN? Contact Meg Smith at msmith6@wcpss.net.

Attention Wakefield Eagle Scouts
Our school has several community service projects available for Eagle Scout candidates. We need a concession stand built for our outdoor sporting events. If you are interested and can commit to a completion date of September 15, please contact Mindy McGinnis at 676 4909 or email her at MindyLMcG@aol.com for additional details. Help us make WMS the best it can be with your community service work.
